PROJECT - SCHULTZ HOUSE
I grew up in a small town in the White Mountains, where there wasn’t much to do besides exploring the woods. To keep myself busy, I started making things—using whatever materials I could find around me.
When it came time to choose a field of study, art school was an easy decision. It was a natural extension of the maker mentality I had already begun to cultivate. I was drawn to graphic design for its ability to create work that wasn’t just visually compelling but also functional and impactful. But to balance its often clean, digital nature, I spent my extra credits in metalsmithing and furniture design—ensuring I still got my hands a little dirty.
That desire to create has shaped my career, leading me to opportunities where I can put my creativity to work. A few years ago, I felt the itch to reconnect with my country roots and the satisfaction of hands-on work. So, I bought a small property in Upstate New York and spent weekends and time off from my Brooklyn schedule building a getaway with my own hands. This is the result of that need to create—something tangible, shaped by both instinct and intention.
